Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
1. Overview
Home Comfort Air ("we", "us", "our") operates the Home Comfort Club subscription service. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following personal information when you sign up for the Home Comfort Club or use our services:
- Identity information: Full name
- Contact information: Email address, phone number, and residential address
- Billing information: Payment method details (processed and stored securely by Stripe — see section 6)
- Service history: Records of all service visits, technician notes, system details, and Delta T readings for your air conditioning system(s)
- Account information: Login credentials for the member portal (stored as a secure hashed value — we never store your plain-text password)
- Usage data: How you interact with the member portal, including pages visited and actions taken
3. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to operate and improve the Home Comfort Club. Specifically:
- Managing your membership and subscription billing
- Scheduling and delivering service visits to your property
- Sending service reminders, booking confirmations, and membership communications
- Providing access to the member portal and your service history
- Processing payments and issuing tax invoices
- Responding to enquiries and support requests
- Complying with legal and regulatory obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Service History & Property Transfers
Your service history is tied to your membership account. If you are selling your property and wish to transfer your service history to the new owners, we will facilitate this transfer only with your explicit written consent. The new owners will need to establish their own account or agree to a membership transfer. No service history is shared with any third party without your permission.
5. Disclosure to Third Parties
We engage the following trusted third-party service providers who may handle your personal information as part of delivering our service:
- Stripe: Processes all subscription and one-off payments. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. We do not store your full card details.
- Google: Used for member authentication (sign-in via Google). Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Resend: Delivers transactional emails including booking confirmations, service reminders, and portal access emails.
Each provider is bound by their own privacy obligations and is only given access to information necessary to perform their specific function. We do not authorise these providers to use your information for their own purposes.
6. Payment Security
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. Home Comfort Air does not store, transmit, or have access to your full credit card or bank account details. Stripe maintains PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance — the highest level of payment security certification available.
7. Data Storage & Security
Your personal information is stored on secure servers hosted within Australia or with providers that maintain equivalent data protection standards. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and role-based access controls to limit who within our organisation can access your information.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your membership is active and for a period of 7 years after your membership ends, in accordance with Australian tax and record-keeping obligations. Service history records may be retained for longer at your request (e.g., for property sale purposes). You may request deletion of your data at any time — see section 10.
9. Cookies
The Home Comfort Club member portal uses session cookies to keep you logged in during your visit. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from logging in to the member portal.
10. Your Rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate or out-of-date information
- Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Opt out of non-essential communications at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@homecomfortair.net.au. We will respond within 30 days.
11. Privacy Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us in the first instance so we can attempt to resolve your concern. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to members via email at least 14 days before they take effect. The current version will always be available at this page.
